About our Bridal and Prom Boutique

Scarlett's Frocks & Threads is a bridal and prom boutique, situated in Mayfield village, 10 miles south of Tunbridge Wells.  Mayfield offers the period charm, you’d expect from a traditional Sussex village and yet Scarlett's Frocks & Threads has a modern twist, with a dazzling array of prom gowns, in a rainbow of colours. Also a range of designer wedding dresses from top designers in the UK. There is free parking along the High Street, in addition there are two further free car parks to make your shopping experience even easier. We offer dresses to suit all occasions, from Prom and Evening Wear, Special Occasions, Balls, Cruises, Wedding and Bridesmaids dresses.

I have lived and breathed fabrics and threads all my life, learning to sew at a very young age.  I love nothing more than creating beautiful things and dresses are no exception.

You can be assured of a very personal service at Scarlett's Frocks & Threads, each client is important to us.  We want you to relax and enjoy choosing your perfect prom or wedding dress and not feel pressured to make a snap decision.

We are an independent boutique, stocking wonderful designers such as Mori Lee, Kenneth Winston, Goya London and Crystal Breeze.  What’s more we strive for the best fit, with any alterations required, provided in house, by Hannah and the team.  

Hannah, the owner of Scarlett's Frocks & Threads trained at Croydon Art College in Fashion Design, Textiles, Art and Design. She then spent 20 years designing interiors and making hand stitched curtains and soft furnishings, including running a successful e-commerce Made to Measure Curtains, business for a decade, alongside raising a family.  

Fashion and design have always been a passion, with an in depth understanding of pattern cutting and garment construction, getting the right fit is of key importance to me.  I’m thrilled to launch our new exciting venture in Mayfield.  Having seen some of our daughters go through Prom themselves, I know the angst that can go into choosing a dress.

We have a full range of jewellery and accessories to complete the perfect styling. From En Vogue Tiaras, Necklaces, Bracelets and Earrings to handmade unique fascinators, made individually by Amanda our wonderfully creative Miliner, who was a former award-winning entrepreneur in her own right.
